Scout Fair 2008!

Saturday, April 19, 2008
at Qualcomm Stadium!

The San Diego – Imperial Council Scout Fair is coming! This annual community wide event showcases our first-class programs in a fun and exciting way. Cubs, Boy Scouts, Varsity team members, Venturers and Explorers from across our Council join together for a day of good-old Scouting fun!

This year’s Scout Fair takes place on Saturday, April 19, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, in the southeastern parking lot at Qualcomm Stadium.  Be at the Cooking Corral and find the Troop 11 booth at around 8:00 to get the latest info and sign up for booth duty.

The ever popular merit badge midway is going to be loaded with merit badge opportunities.  Be sure to sign up for the badges you want to earn early.  In past years, some merit badge classes have been filled by 9:30.  You will need blue cards, and Mrs. Herbert will have all the blue cards at the Troop 11 booth.

Troop 11 will have a booth again this year in the cooking corral.  We will be cooking peach-berry cobbler, as well as other favorite scout recipies.  Plan on spending 2 hours sometime during the day to help staff the booth.  Come to the booth first thing in the morning (8:00) to get the latest info, and then head over to the merit badge midway to sign up for merit badge classes.  Once you know what merit badges you want, come back and get blue cards signed and sign up for booth duty, then start your fun day at the 2007 San Diego Scout Fair.

When you come back for booth duty, you will learn the fine art of Dutch Oven cooking and each scout will mix, cook, and serve samples to the fair guests.  You will also get to sample some of the finest cobbler this side of the Mississippi.

Bring a backpack with your scout book, a bottle of water, a jacket and hat, and wear your Class "A" uniform.

Come one and all, and have a Great Day!
